Dan Scepanovic CFP®, CLU
Dan is an Executive Financial Consultant who has been providing personalized financial advice and support to his clients since 1991. Dan has earned both his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® and Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designations, a combination recognized by the financial industry as a true mark of excellence.
Dan has built his practice over the years from a sole venture to an 11-member team. Dan specializes in business succession strategies, retirement income planning and estate/legacy preservation. Both approachable and unassuming, Dan works with clients to understand what retirement means to them and builds a financial plan to reflect their wishes. He has been fortunate to witness key milestones in many of clients’ lives, growing their financial plans from early adulthood, through marriage, home purchases, children and pre-retirement. His dedicated client base—many of whom have been with him for 25 to 30 years—speaks to his business acumen and client service commitment.
An avid sportsman, Dan enjoys cheering on the Jays and the Raptors as well as playing golf and pickleball, but his favourite thing to do is travel with family and friends.
Eddie Giraldo CFP®, RRC
A York University graduate, Eddie has been in the financial services industry since 2000. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional and a Registered Retirement Consultant. Committed to lifelong learning, Eddie has completed numerous strategic courses, including advanced studies in taxation and investment portfolio management.
Eddie brings his expertise to Scepanovic & Associates, where he assists affluent Canadians in reaching their financial objectives. He excels at demystifying complex financial strategies, enabling clients to navigate their financial paths with assurance. Eddie's commitment to trust, honesty, and transparency ensures that clients are well-informed and receive impartial advice. Together with Dan, he has spent the past 13 years helping clients protect and grow their assets.
Norm Shogilev PFP, CLU
Norm is a Senior Consultant with almost 40 years of experience in the financial services industry developing all aspects of financial and security plans for clients. Prior to joining IG in early 2013, Norm held Senior Management positions within the mortgage and banking industry. He has earned both his Personal Financial Planner (PFP) and Charter Life Underwriter (CLU) designations, a combination recognized by the financial industry as a true mark of distinction. In addition to managing investment portfolios for his clients, Norm is the S&A team’s mortgage specialist. Norm is a true professional that is very approachable and ensures clients are engaged in all facets of the financial planning process and decision making. But watch out for Norm on the pickleball courts – his affable demeanour is deceiving!
Katrina Scepanovic
A University of Guelph Political Science and Business Certificate graduate, Katrina carries on the family name as an Associate Consultant with the Scepanovic & Associates team. Since joining the team in 2022, Katrina has gained tremendous knowledge working alongside Dan and Eddie on pre- and post-client meeting execution. A bundle of energy, Katrina knows the client base inside and out and has a knack for connecting with clients on a personal, as well as financial level. In just three years, Katrina has developed a broad understanding of a wide array of products and services and is quickly becoming a great point of contact for your financial needs.
Katrina is a Pilates enthusiast, enjoys travelling and loves when weekend activities lead her to discover new chic restaurants and cafes.
Jordan Sobot
Jordan joined Scepanovic & Associates after studying business management at the University of Guelph. Jordan’s mathematical skills (he ranked in the 95th percentile in SAT mathematics) are proving invaluable as he studies to become an Associate Consultant, while at the same time assisting Dan and Eddie in client meeting preparation and investment profile analysis. Prior to attending university in Canada, Jordan studied abroad, playing point guard at Don Bosco Institute Prep in Crown Point, Indiana, where he fostered skills in leadership, devotion to tasks and accountability—all making him well suited to join the S&A team.
In addition to being a sports enthusiast, Jordan is interested in social media and is a former podcast co-host.
Shelley Scepanovic
Shelley is the second longest standing member of the Scepanovic & Associates team, having helped Dan manage his practice almost from the beginning, 34 years ago. Shelley’s extensive knowledge and history with the client base makes her a natural fit as the team’s Business Development Manager. She is also responsible for assisting clients with the insurance application process.
Prior to working with Dan, Shelley worked in politics as an Executive Assistant to an MPP at Queen’s Park, and later in public relations at the Ontario Chiropractic College in Toronto, creating the College’s corporate and marketing messaging.
Born and raised in Bruce County, Shelley is an avid curler who takes to the rink 3 times a week. When she isn’t curling, Shelley enjoys golf, pickleball and time spent (outside the office!) with Dan and the girls.
Becca Castelein
Becca joined the Scepanovic & Associates team in 2019, bringing along her vast experience working with IG Wealth Management since January 2011. Becca is responsible for client information management, overseeing everything from daily transactions to prepping the consultants for client meetings to processing all trades. A Business Marketing honours graduate of Mohawk College, Becca has applied her marketing knowledge within IG for 15 years, making her a definite asset to the Scepanovic & Associates team.
When she isn’t analyzing accounts and keeping the team organized, Becca enjoys practicing yoga, home-renovating with her husband AJ, and spending time in nature with their dog Leo.
Cathy Chiappetta
With 38 years of experience acquired through actuarial, pension and consulting services, Cathy is invaluable to the client experience at Scepanovic & Associates. Her extensive knowledge of individual, group and executive pension plans has provided Cathy with a strong base of knowledge. Her warm and engaging personality welcomes clients, as she is often the first point of contact at Scepanovic & Associates. Providing superior customer service comes easily for someone who enjoys people as much as Cathy does.
When not at work Cathy enjoys travelling (especially on cruise ships), spending time with family and spoiling her grandchildren.
Mary Raquin
Mary has over 40 years of experience in the banking and financial industry. She previously worked in various roles, including a Customer Service Supervisor at a major Canadian bank. She also worked at another financial institution, a firm that provides advice and guidance designed specifically for physicians and their families. Mary has drawn on both of these experiences to provide exceptional customer service to clients since 2017. Clients appreciate Mary being their first point of contact, putting them at ease, and has been instrumental in growing the practice over the years.
A fitness enthusiast, Mary is an avid runner, having tackled half marathons and joins most of the team with her love of pickleball.
Mya Scepanovic
A Media, Information, and Technoculture graduate of the University of Western Ontario, Mya joined the family practice as a Marketing Assistant. Having previously worked in brand promotion, with a focus on graphic design and social relations, Mya is thrilled to apply her skills to the financial planning and wealth management industry through the Scepanovic & Associates team. She also has a lead role in creating and executing client-focused events.
Mya has inherited the Scepanovic love of travel, enjoys both live and movie theatre productions, and is an avid reader and booklover.
Robin Forbes
Robin joined the Scepanovic & Associates team in 2015 and works part-time managing client events, marketing and communications. Previously, she worked in government relations, issues management and corporate communications in the telecommunications, aerospace and nuclear energy industries. Robin also worked in politics as an Executive Assistant to an MPP at Queen’s Park.
Robin still enjoys the occasional political campaign, as well as playing volleyball, pickleball and time with her family: Chris, Liam and Sarah.
